Healthy Relationships 101: Virtual Workshops

We offer trainings in 90 minute, half-day (3 hour) and full-day options (6 hours).
The trainings includes lecture, interactive exercises, printed materials, Q&A, and in-depth discussions identifying the relationship
challenges that affect our everyday lives.  You will walk away with a new set of skills that will help improve communication and understanding—
with students, colleagues, friends, family, and the average person you meet on the street.

It also includes an introduction to the Trauma-Informed Approach. This approach has proven to be transformational in shifting the dialogue from “what’s wrong with you?” to “what’s going on with you?”
This creates a safe and nurturing environment that allows for a new perspective on behavior.

The sessions expand upon the main topics of the Healthy Relationships 101 curriculum (for schools) or the guidebook (for other organizations) using interactive exercises that stimulate thoughtful reflection and discussion about relationship skills.

Our Teacher Training Program instructs educators on how to incorporate Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies into their classrooms. It provides a detailed curriculum, including instructions and exercises, that prepare them to teach Healthy Relationships 101 to their students. A key aspect of the program focuses on learning how to express one's needs and feelings without blame and judgment and to listen empathically.  Through this training, educators learn communication skills and practices that foster the students’ ability to engage in healthy and respectful relationships. It also provides teachers with insight into their students’ needs and feelings with particular emphasis on how modern culture affects their ability to communicate in a produtive and positive manner. This program includes printed materials, handouts, and resources that promote respectful communication skills and behavior. These skills benefit communication between students, parents, administrators, and fellow teachers.

Our Corporate & Organization Training Program equips professionals in any line of work with specialized communication skills through these workshops, enabling them to motivate and engage their clients in new and more productive ways. We work with various organizations that serve communities in need. Training is available for professionals in social service agencies and organizations. The Relationship Foundation has provided training and resources to mental health providers, social workers, and prison counselors. Our guidebook based on our curriculum has found its way into domestic violence shelters, mental health clinics, and drug rehab centers. Our guidebook is now in use at a victim advocacy center at an army base in Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

Our Parent Workshops explore the perception of relationship dynamics. The instructor guides parents through key points and helps them define their relationships with a focus on needs and feelings expressed without judgment. Most importantly, the workshop provides parents with the tools to strengthen their relationships with their children and to foster their child's personal development and sense of self-worth and well-being.  The workshop includes a discussion on the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) study and the impact of trauma on childhood development. Through inquiry and practice of our communication skill set, parents can share what they have learned with their children to help fortify the parent/child bond and to foster their child's resiliency.

The Relationship Foundation stresses the importance of conducting all programs in a safe, supportive environment and urges discretion and respect among its participants.

A special workshop that we are currently offering is a 90 minute workshop on Unconscious Bias in The Workplace.
